Ford F-150 Long Travel Kits: Who Makes One for Your Year

The short answer: bolt-on long-travel kits exist for the 2004–2020 F-150 in both 2WD and 4WD, from Dirt King, starting at $3,699 for 2WD. For a 2021+ F-150, the only bolt-on kit we found from Dirt King, Baja Kits or Camburg is Baja Kits’ 4WD-only kit, and it doesn’t fit trucks with CCD adaptive damping. A 2WD 2021+ F-150 has no catalog kit from any of the three. Camburg lists no long-travel kit for a non-Raptor F-150 at all. RPG Offroad’s $7,200 kits are the higher-travel option, including the 2021+ truck in 4WD.
Find your truck first: year, then 2WD or 4WD
Two things decide which kit you can buy: the generation, and whether the truck is 2WD or 4WD.
- 2004–2008 (11th gen): Dirt King is the catalog option, for 2WD or 4WD. Baja Kits and Camburg list no front long-travel kit for it. JD Fabrication used to sell a 2WD kit, but that product page now returns a 404.
- 2009–2014 (12th gen): Dirt King for 2WD or 4WD; Baja Kits for 4WD only. Baja Kits’ page is titled 09–14 but its fitment list names 2009–2012 only, so 2013–2014 owners should call before ordering.
- 2015–2020 (13th gen): Dirt King for 2WD or 4WD; Baja Kits for 4WD only.
- 2021–2025 (14th gen): Baja Kits for 4WD only. Its page says the kit “does not fit models with CCD (Continuous Controlled Damping) or sensors on both of the upper control arms.” Dirt King sells only upper control arms for this truck ($899, stock track).

Manufacturer specifications, as listed October 2026. Resellers don’t always match. SDHQ lists Dirt King’s 2004–2008 kit at 13″ of travel, a 35″ tire and 0–4″ of lift; Dirt King’s own page says 12″, 37″ and 0–2.5″. Trust the manufacturer’s page. Dirt King’s heim inner-pivot option adds $300.
Kibbetech also lists a 4WD long-travel kit for Raptors and F-150s at $19,999.99. It’s a different class of kit: +3″ per side, 17″+ of travel, billet spindles, a Wilwood big-brake setup, and it requires fiberglass. Its title names Gen 1 through Gen 3 but the options are Gen 1 and Gen 2, so confirm fitment for your year with Kibbetech.
RPG Offroad sells its +3 BOLT front kit at $7,200 for three ranges: 2004–2014 (“16.5″ 4WD, Up To 19″ 2WD” of travel), 2015–2020 and 2021–2027 (16.5″, with 4WD retained; neither page mentions 2WD). Shocks, axles and brake lines are sold separately, and fiberglass front fenders are required (as listed October 2026).
2WD vs 4WD: what changes
2WD is the simpler bolt-on. Dirt King says that for the full 12″ of travel you need its spec-built shocks or shocks built to its spec sheet; its 2WD spec coilovers list at $1,999.
4WD keeps the front driveline but adds parts:
- Extended axles. Dirt King sells 3.5″ extended axle shafts for $649 (2004–2020) or complete axle assemblies for $1,222.20 (2009–2020). Baja Kits includes extended-length axle shafts in its kits.
- Different shocks. Dirt King’s 2WD spec shocks don’t work on 4WD trucks. Dirt King calls for King or Fox OEM-replacement coilovers with 700 lb springs. Its 2009–2014 page says 2014 trucks need its LCA shock spacer kit (DK-900963, $85) with those shocks, and its 2015–2020 page calls for the same kit.
- Baja Kits’ shocks are separate. All three kits use a Gen 1 (2010–2014) Raptor front 3.0 coilover, sold separately. The 2009–2014 page offers King coilovers at +$3,337 and states a 40+ week lead time on all King shocks.

What else the kit needs
- Fiberglass. All three Dirt King F-150 kit pages say front fiberglass is required. Kibbetech’s does too. Baja Kits’ pages don’t say either way. See fiberglass fenders and bedsides.
- 37″ tires. Dirt King says 37s need wheel-well work: fold the firewall pinch weld, shave the front cab mount and modify the upper wheel well to avoid contact at full bump. The cab mount chop guide covers that job.
- Wheels. Every Dirt King and Baja Kits kit above is spec’d at 4.75″ of backspacing, which is a 17×8.5 at 0 mm offset. More backspacing tucks the tire in toward the arms. See wheel backspacing for long travel.
- Lift spindles or bracket lifts. Dirt King asks you to contact it first if the truck has either.
Ford F-150 long-travel FAQ
Is there a long-travel kit for a 2021+ F-150?
For a 4WD truck without CCD, yes: Baja Kits’ 2021–2025 Front Prerunner Kit at $4,099. RPG Offroad also lists a $7,200 kit for the 2021–2027 F-150 with 4WD retained. For a 2WD 2021+ F-150, none of the five makers we checked lists a kit stated to fit, so ask RPG or plan on custom fabrication.
Does Camburg make an F-150 long-travel kit?
Only for the 2017–2020 Raptor. Camburg’s catalog for the regular F-150 is upper control arms, lift kits and smaller parts such as shackles, with no long-travel kit.
How much travel does an F-150 long-travel kit give?
Dirt King and Baja Kits both list 12″ for their F-150 kits. RPG Offroad lists 16.5″ (up to 19″ on a 2WD 2004–2014), and Kibbetech’s $19,999.99 kit lists 17″+. Dirt King’s page warns that some companies claim inaccurate travel numbers or don’t disclose the work needed to reach them.
Do F-150 long-travel kits include shocks?
No. Dirt King’s kits list arms, limit straps, tie rod extensions, brake lines and hardware, but no shocks. Baja Kits says “Shocks Sold Separately” on all three F-150 kits. Budget for them from the start.
